SUMMARY:

The Controller will manage the daily Accounting, Purchasing and HR operations, ensuring the company achieves its financial goals both now and in the future. As an integral part of the management team, the Controller offers company leadership clear, precise and accurate financial data, reports, and trends, enabling well-informed decisions for the company’s short and long-term continued success.

Accounting Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all general accounting functions, including: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, general ledger, cash management, reconciliation, financial statement reporting, balance sheet management, and all other accounting-related functions.
• Maintain data integrity of all financial transactions via QuickBooks.
• Review and Prepare Financial Statements (Various Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Daily Report).
• Prepare and present various reports, analysis and trends to upper management to ensure company goals are met.
• Supervise the completion of the year-end closing process, providing necessary reports and data to company’s external CPA firm.
• Coordinate with CPA firm, Payroll company, and Insurance agents on any Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, payroll, and other local taxes), insurance reports, and other reports required by government regulation.

Purchasing/Finance Responsibilities:

• Manage Purchasing Department, supervising and assisting staff, and monitoring performance
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to improve efficiency and profit margins.
• Review and negotiate vendor contracts, quotes and pricing for maximum ROI.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses. Identify opportunities for cost savings.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

• Manage external Payroll Service and Health Insurance providers
• Oversee timely and complete onboarding of new hires
• Coordinate assistance and advice from external HR advisor on internal employment matters
• Maintain accurate employment files including worker’s comp, benefits, disciplinary forms, performance reviews, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Quickbooks preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Proven leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
