We are the Yara Hotel. Visit us at yarapalmsprings.com We are currently hiring for a hotel Assistant Manager of a new 10 room boutique hotel in Palm Springs. The property is a 1930s Spanish style boutique hotel currently being renovated from the studs. The renovations capture the serenity and aesthetic of a Balinese oasis via the Mediterranean. It’s located downtown and sits against the gorgeous backdrop of the Palm Springs mountains.

This is for a special someone that can be a partner to our hotel managers and make sure that our property and guests are well looked after. This is a hybrid role - you will be doing a multitude of tasks including: running through daily operations, serving guests drinks, answering phones, taking and changing reservations, inspecting rooms, helping cleaners with laundry, making runs to the store and a whole bunch more.

Please be reliable, good natured, responsible, and like interacting with people. This position is especially ideal for candidates who are looking to start at a boutique hotel and gain experience wearing a bunch of hats.

The ideal candidate for this position is

• Upbeat, positive individuals looking to be part of an incredible, small, Guest Services Team.
• Some previous hotel or guest service experience preferred
• Comfortable with basic computer skills and can learn hotel reservation systems
• Flexibility and change management skill set to adapt to the variable conditions of daily hotel operations with confidence and expertise.
• Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills 100% of the time with positive guest feedback.
• Must maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by guests and vendor partners.
• Must be able to learn basic hotel reservation systems and work proficiently.
• Ability to multitask and handle several guest’s needs at once.

What you’ll be doing:

• Work closely with and assist the hotel manager/ owner with all daily activities
• Oversee and directly participate in daily operations, arrivals, checkouts, opening/closing procedures.
• Participate with sharing ideas on how to improve systems and guest experience.
• Taking reservations and closing out folios and payments
• Respond to all guest inquiries and follow up in an attentive, courteous and professional manner
• Auditing rooms to make sure housekeepers have cleaned them to hotel standards
• Maintain a professional working relationship with ownership with open lines of communication
• Ensure clean and safe workspace with respect to company policies and programming
• Maintain constant communication with Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments for daily operational success
• Ensure logging and delivery of all messages, packages, and mail in a timely and professional manner
• Preparing continental breakfast, making drinks, and restocking food and beverage items
• Making sure the property is tidy and presentable at all times
• Light social media content generation (tiktok, IG, etc)

We are a brand new hotel - this is part time during peak ours for now and will be more hours as we move into the fall season.
