Job Title: Assistant Manager - Sneaker Store
Job Summary:
As an Assistant Manager at our sneaker store, you will play a crucial role in supporting the store manager in daily operations and achieving sales targets. You will assist in providing excellent customer service, managing staff, and ensuring the store's overall success. This position requires a strong passion for sneakers, a deep understanding of the sneaker culture, and exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, sizing, and purchasing decisions.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a welcoming and engaging store atmosphere to enhance the overall shopping experience.
2. Sales and Merchandising:
- Assist in achieving sales targets by actively promoting products, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Ensure that merchandise is displayed attractively and is well-organized.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking and inventory management.
3. Staff Supervision and Training:
- Train, coach, and mentor sales associates to improve their product knowledge and customer service skills.
- Schedule and assign tasks to staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to enhance productivity and sales.
4. Store Operations:
- Assist in opening and closing the store, including cash register reconciliation and security procedures.
- Collaborate with the store manager to implement and enforce store policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
5. Inventory Management:
- Assist in receiving and processing merchandise shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in inventory reconciliation.
- Report any discrepancies or inventory issues to the store manager.
6. Sales Reporting:
- Prepare sales reports and share them with the store manager.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and recommend strategies for improvement.
7. Loss Prevention:
- Monitor store security and loss prevention measures to prevent theft and inventory shrinkage.
- Collaborate with the store manager to implement loss prevention protocols.
8. Product Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest sneaker releases, trends, and brands in the industry.
- Share your knowledge with staff and customers to drive sales and brand loyalty.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree preferred).
- Previous retail experience, preferably in a sneaker or footwear store.
- Strong knowledge of sneaker culture, brands, and trends.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Leadership and supervisory experience.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a passion for maintaining a visually appealing store.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift and move boxes and merchandise, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds.
