What You Will Be Doing:

As the Fleet Manager, you will serve as the primary contact concerning YBCO’s dedicated fleet and associated equipment. Responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, and managing the company’s fleet needs - utilization, maintenance, appearance, repair, replacement, and compliance of fleet vehicles and associated assets. This role requires a strategic leader for optimizing whole-life cost of ownership and utilization, managing procurement of new assets and disposal of assets while collaborating with internal partners and stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all transportation assets are inventoried, registered, and brought into compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Provide feedback, direction, and guidance on fleet functional resources to maximize efficiency while optimizing costs.
  • Evaluate and negotiate all fleet purchases with various suppliers while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Review capital equipment requisitions in line with YBCO guidelines and objectives.
  • Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance and appearance standards are met.
  • Control costs by optimizing fleet utilization through the development and maintenance of standards in collaboration with local Managers.
  • Track inventoried assets to the fullest extent possible.
  • Establish and utilize processes for reporting and tracking performance across multiple organizations and operations.
  • Utilize current technologies to enhance efficiency and maximize utilization.
  • Direct and oversee additional transportation programs such as fuel purchase programs as well as fleet tracking devices.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned by VP.

The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Education/Experience:
  • College Degree or (3) years of related equivalent job experience
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as this position will frequently contact people via email, phone, and in person
  • This person must be highly organized, able to multi-task, and be very detail oriented
  • Be versatile in sales negotiations and operational execution of commitments
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet operations, including maintenance practices, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and operational data to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
