We’re hiring Prep Cooks to Live. Work. Explore. in Zion!

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round or Seasonal 
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: $13.15/ per hour

Housing/Food: $13.50 per day
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all culinary and sanitation requirements including product rotation (FIFO), temperature maintenance/control, adhering to storage procedures, cooking requirements and handling techniques.
  • Maintain policies and procedures regarding health and safety requirements.
  • Control waste and maintain area food cost.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
  • Prepare to-go salads, sandwiches, desserts, wraps, etc.
  • Become exposed to different areas of food production, cooking methods, and continue to develop skills.
  • Basic knife work and use of kitchen equipment such as steamers, slicer, grills and kettles and mixers required. 
  • Practice established sanitation standards in all phases of work.
Qualifications
  • Ability to be well groomed, clean, and practice good hygiene standards.
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate positively with peers and supervisor.
  • Ability to function with flexibility and courteous behavior in very active kitchen operation.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and safely with all kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance and be punctual in a complete uniform for any scheduled shift.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and storage in accordance to food safety codes.
  • Skills in proper knife handling and equipment operation.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Ability to stand throughout an eight hour shift and frequently lift and carry cartons of 50lbs or more.
