Summary

Provide hands on engineering support required to build and maintain internal and external PKI systems for DISA by supporting multiple PKI related projects. Duties include designing test plans and scenarios for all portions of the custom application or tool, addressing areas such as usability and regression testing specific to the software enhancements/modifications in preparation for production deployment. Document software defects in the tracking system and monitor bug resolution efforts and re-test bug fixes. Participate in integration and technical exchange meetings to capture input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Actively researches and recommends automated testing tools and prepares automated test scripts using the selected tool.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides support to the DISA by researching upcoming mobile Operation System (OS) updates and their effect to existing DoD PKI derived credential issuance systems.
• Provide unbiased, objective advice and recommendations related to PKI and PKE activities, capabilities, testing, and findings.
• Must be able to work in concert with developers and have a strong understanding of DevOps.
• Requires professional and communications skills needed to coordinate DISA efforts with both DoD and non-DoD partners.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Information Assurance Work Force (IAWF)/Cyber Security Work Force DoD 8570.01-M IAT level II knowledge in the use of networked computer-based systems and the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
• Understanding of DoD SIPRNet token and Common Access Card (CAC) characteristics and SIPRNet Token/CAC operation and procedures to include middleware and hardware, with a least one-year experience.
• Expert knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of IT processing and a working knowledge of computer system architecture, performance characteristics and DoD and Service IT security policies with a least one year experience.
• Skilled verbal and written communication techniques required to conduct meetings, and prepare reports and other correspondence Shall be able to work independently
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to produce quality and timely materials
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Must be able to regularly stand, walk; sit; use hands to handle, feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Education/Experience

• Ability to communicate highly technical information effectively both orally and in writing
• Proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel

Required licenses or certifications

• Possess and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
• IAT level II Certification: Security CE, CCNA Security, CySA , GISCP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP, and relevant operating system.

Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
