Position Summary
Produces laser cuts for fabrication processes by setting up, programming, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) laser cutting machine in a safe, productive manner, ensuring all quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Ensures machine optics are maintained by performing tests and procedures, including tape shots, lens focusing, lens cleaning, nozzle cleaning, and replacement of any worn items
- Labels finished parts accurately and delivers them to designated areas
- Monitors laser operations to ensure machine is functioning properly and safely; records machine code errors and communicates performance issues to the supervisor
- Uses inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
- Deburrs and cleans parts
- Maintains quality, productivity, and safety records
- Maintains supplies and performs regular preventive maintenance
- Assists other operators with operating, inspecting, and cleaning machines and parts
- Maintains cleanliness of work area
- Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
- Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC operating experience
- Knowledge of CNC laser-cutting operations
- Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- LOTO certification required
- Crane operation certification required
- Forklift operation certification required
