Hopemont Hospital is a state operated, long-term care facility within the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities located in Terra Alta, WV.

This position is eligible for a hiring incentive of $11,474.00 to the selected candidate who agrees to work for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.

General Description

Performs professional work as a staff nurse. Provide nursing care to residents on the assigned unit. Direct assignments and activities of LPN’s and Health Service Workers and evaluate their performance on the job. Coordinate services rendered by nursing with the treatment team. Shift assignment is subject to change per operational need. Performs related duties as required. Demonstrated computer skills are required. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position.

Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. This is a tobacco/smoke free campus. Applicants must successfully pass a background check.

Minimum Qualifications:

Training: Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program; plus one year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.

OR

Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited four year college year or university.

Special Requirement: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered professional nurse.
