General Description
Under general supervision, would be responsible for managing the development, implementation, monitoring and revising of the facility infection control program and employees health program to provide a safe and sanitary environment as well as prevent the development and transmission of disease and infection. Evaluates quality of patient care and outcomes as they relate to healthcare-associated infections. In collaboration with the medical staff and pharmacy, assists with oversight of the antibiotic stewardship program, including monitoring resident outcomes and reducing antibiotic resistance. Coordination of routine labs with consents for new orders when applicable, prior authorizations, and approving monthly orders. Performs related duties as required. Demonstrated computer skills are required. Shift assignment is subject to change per operational need.
Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. This is a tobacco/smoke free campus. Applicants must successfully pass a background check. Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Current West Virginia license to practice as a registered nurse.
Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in nursing
Substitution: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a Registered Nurse may substitute for the required experience.
