Job Summary
The Senior Accountant (SA) is responsible for all general ledger maintenance including posting journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, sales/use tax, audit compliance, and accounts payable and receivable. The SA will assist in the preparation of financial packages during month-end and present the reports to management.
Job Essential Functions:
Financial Statements
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled
with resolution to reconciling items
• Reconcile general ledgers, post journal entries, and assist with the preparation of financial statements
• Record accruals, fixed-assets
• Prepare internal reports and perform variance analysis
• Reconcile intercompany accounts
• Prepare financial statements
• Upload data from Cloud PM to Qb
• Substantiate financial transactions by reviewing supporting documents. Verify and analyze business records, transactions, and
procedures
• Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and year-end audit for independent external auditors. Research issues, clarify information,
and prepare supporting data
• Prepare audit schedules and filing sales/use tax forms in multi-state environments
Taxes
• File monthly sales and use tax to include hotel, property, and tangible assets
• Create new tax accounts in CloudPM
• Serve as contact for financially related CloudPM questions
Qualifications:
Education: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred, but not required
Experience: • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience
Knowledge: • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of mathematics typically used in the accounting field
• Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems
Skills: • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
• Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Active Listening – able to give full attention to the person speaking, taking time to understand points being made,
asking appropriate questions, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
