Job Description:
Wondfo USA is currently seeking to fill a Research Associate position in our San Diego R&D branch. This individual should have hands-on experience in molecular diagnostic assay development and will support research projects that are essential for the development of innovative, point of care molecular diagnostic products.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of point of care molecular diagnostics products
- Support various phases of product development: feasibility, integration, verification and validation, product transfer
- Execute experiments: multiplex RT-PCR, sample extractions, reagent formulations, instrument testing
- Handle live pathogens and human clinical samples in a biosafety level 2 laboratory
- Support the production of reagents and cartridges for R&D pilot manufacturing
- Communicate results, orally and in writing, with colleagues and management
- Document results while keeping an organized and comprehensive experimental notebook
Requirements/Qualifications:
- B.S./M.S. in biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field
- 0-5 years of product development experience in an industry position
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and collaborative multidisciplinary setting
- Good basic computation skills in Microsoft Office and experience using statistical software
- Prior experience in the integration of molecular assays onto a diagnostic instrument is a plus
