Wonderverse (MRPF FEC Illinois LLC) is Hiring an Assistant Operations Manager Near Brook, IL

Position Description:

Welcome to Wonderverse: a new entertainment, dining, and social experience owned by Sony Entertainment in Oak Brook, IL. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Assistant Operations Manager of Games, VR, Escape Rooms, and Attractions. As part of this dynamic Operations Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, including strategic planning, for a gaming and attractions venue. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and profitable experience for guests while managing and coordinating staff and resources.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve organizational goals for games, VR, escape rooms, and attractions.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of plans to achieve organizational goals for games, VR, escape rooms, and attractions.
  • Assist with the management of budgets, scheduling of staff, and coordination of vendors.
  • Hire, train, and manage staff to ensure the venue is always adequately staffed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and monitor staff performance to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and maintain safety procedures to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and staff are properly trained in emergency procedures.
  • Maintain guest service standards to ensure guests have an amazing experience.
  • Monitor guest fedback, address complaints, and implement changes to improve guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or other members of management.
  • Assume the role of Operations Manager as required.


Desired Skills, Knowlege, and Abilities

  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to recruit, train, and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
  • Respond to guest complaints and concerns and ensure that all guest feedback is appropriately addressed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure the establishment is clean, well-maintained, and presents a welcoming atmosphere for guests.


Work Experience and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in hospitality, business management or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in managing operations in the gaming or entertainment industry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • A degree in hospitality or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in project start-up environments is advantageous.
Workplace Conditions, Requirements, and Physical Demands
  • Must pass company background screen and reference check.
  • Drug testing as per company policy.
  • This position is operational, primarily dealing with Guests and Colleagues in the venue. Standing, walking, and working in an attractions venue environment for long periods is required.
