Position Summary

As a member of the Customer Experience team, this position is a key ambassador for Wonderstate Coffee in the Minneapolis market. The Field Representative will serve as a liaison with customers and is responsible for executing demos, handling in-store merchandising and other customer support, marketing and sales activities, and identifying opportunities for growth in the target market. This position is a full-time position based in Minneapolis and reports to the Director of Customer Experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform coffee demos at co-ops, grocery stores, cafes and other industry events per Wonderstate Coffee’s demo standards
• Assist buyer in curating the optimal coffee lineup, assess coffee sets on a weekly basis at key accounts, verifying pricing and promotions
• Assist and inform buyer in product assortment, monitor product performance, verify pricing on and off promotion
• Share Wonderstate Coffee’s passion, vision and culture with customers and consumers
• Regular interactions with assigned customer list, including cafe, grocery and office accounts
• Partner with Marketing & Customer Experience team on key customer service goals to grow sales and retain/grow existing customers
• Coordinate Minneapolis events calendar, and organize and attend events
• Report back to the Customer Experience team in an efficient and timely manner in order to improve overall customer service effort
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships based on service, quality and commitment to the customer
• Partner with the Customer Experience Team to execute plans and achieve in-market goals
• Update CRM with current partner information
• Conduct regular travel to leads and existing customers
• Identify opportunities, pursue leads, and onboard new customers
• Give input into development of new products and effective in-store marketing materials
• Exemplify the core values of Wonderstate Coffee
• Other marketing and sales support activities, as directed

Requirements and Desired Skills.

• Outstanding people skills and desire to engage people in the coffee experience
• Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
• Reliable and accountable while working independently with a flexible schedule
• Previous experience with specialty coffee, organic foods and/or the cooperative and fair trade movements a plus
• Ability to stand and perform demos for 3-hour shifts and light lifting of demo kits
• Ability to drive to the roastery in Viroqua for quarterly staff meetings and other key meetings and trainings as required
• Working knowledge of supermarket retailers, grocery wholesalers, distributors and their processes desired
• Honor relationships within the team, gives and receives feedback respectfully, expresses gratitude to others, and actively contributes to a positive team environment
• Passion for ethically sourced, organic, high quality coffee and food, and supporting farmer cooperatives

Required Education and Experience

• Experience in coffee and/or specialty food/beverage industry preferred
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
• Satisfactory driving record

Hours, Wage & Location

• Core schedule is Monday – Friday, with some weekend hours
• Majority remote work with occasional travel to Roastery/Office in Viroqua
• Physical demands include frequent driving
• Starting salary is $35,000 annually, based on experience
