Position Description:

The Social Worker will provide individual and group trauma responsive counseling to WPA program participants. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Social Worker will work with participants referred by the Alternative to Incarceration Program and the Community Linkage Unit. Our programs specialize in working with survivors of trauma – specifically survivors of intimate partner violence and sex trafficking. This is a hybrid position, with up to 2 days in office in Brooklyn, NY. The social worker may earn clinical hours for licensing through clinical

Responsibilities:

  • Provide trauma responsive counseling to program participants, including group work.
  • Work collaboratively with legal teams to provide clinical recommendations and clinical reports.
  • Provide clinical consultation to WPA Programs on best practices regarding mental health needs and offer guidance on complex cases when obstacles arise.
  • Document all activities with, and on behalf of enrolled clients in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in WPA’s electronic database within 48 hours of service.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop service plans, and treatment referrals for participants.
  • Participate in WPA all staff meetings.
  • Provide support and team coverage for clinical services, as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, MHC, MFT, Forensic-Psychology, or related counseling field required.
  • New York State LCSW, LMSW, LMFT or LMHC certification preferred.
  • Strong assessment and engagement skills essential
  • Experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence and/or trauma.
  • Familiarity with the criminal court system and experience working with court mandated clients preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical practice experience, particularly familiarity with use of validated instruments.
  • Experience with office computer applications required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/ English a plus but not required.

Compensation:

Compensation for this role is $65,000 annually commensurate with education and experience.
