Wolfe and Associates, Inc. is Hiring an Industrial Electrician Near South Bend, IN

Grotnes is an innovative manufacturer of customized and integrated metal forming equipment. We are assisting them in their search for an Industrial Electrician.

This position assembles and installs electrical components and wiring in newly manufactured industrial equipment and/or products. This includes laying out and assembly/wiring of sub plates for electrical enclosures and machine mounted sensors according to required specifications.

Activities:

  • Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine established assembly methods.
  • Wires, assembles, routes, and installs electrical and electronic components in main control panel and terminal boxes, machine mounted devices, etc., according to specifications.
  • Cuts wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters.
  • Cuts plastic sleeves and slips sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections.
  • Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping device.
  • Routes, combs, twists, wraps, ties, and attaches wire to terminal points, according to requirements, using soldering gun and hand tools.
  • Connects wiring to accessories, such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, condensers, switches, solenoids, and installs accessories in electrical or electronic units, using a variety of tools.
  • Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using various electrical test equipment.
  • Work with control engineer to debug equipment and machine process tests.

Background/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
  • Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions.
  • 5 years electrical assembly experience required; journeyman preferred.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly within budgeted hours.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem in such a way as to help in the debugging of equipment.
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Willing to work irregular hours when needed to support critical project milestones.
