Overview:

WiredPeople invites applicants to apply for our Physician role working in Chipley and Bonifay, FL supporting our public health teams. 

Essential Functions:

• This is a highly responsible position requiring the incumbent to provide medical oversight of clinical services and other programs/areas which may require medical expertise/decisions in a public health setting and for the provision of medical services.
• Responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.
• Provides medical consultation and oversight as indicated to one Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner/Practitioner, who renders medical services under mutually developed protocols, which includes chart reviews.
• Provide direct supervision of Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners.
• Provide medical consultation and oversight to Registered Nurses who render designated medical services under mutually developed protocols.
• Monitoring and evaluation of medical services to ensure they reflect professionalism and agency standards.
• Performing medical review and evaluation of tuberculosis cases through medical records reviews and patient-related consultation with TB nurse case manager related to patients suspected of having TB or with the diagnosis of active TB.
• Participation in overall health department efforts in disease surveillance (prevention and control measures) and consultation for communicable and non-communicable diseases.
• Assisting in the interpretation and collection of epidemiologic data in the health department.
• Medical oversight in disaster preparedness both within the organization and also with other agencies involved in such efforts.
• Provides direct medical care to patients: preventive medicine through screenings, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment related to family planning, and STD patients, and the provision of primary care services to those patients seeking care.
• Attends professional meetings and educational sessions to keep knowledge and skills current.

Qualifications:

• Licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458 or 459 F.S.
• Experience in patient services, customer service, or related fields interacting directly with clients.
• Strong professional communication skills.
