WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE is Hiring an Inventory Control Associate Near San Jose, CA

Summary: The Inventory Control is responsible for managing inventory control processes in collaboration with management and ensures that counts are completed promptly to reduce the suffering of shortages. It is crucial that inventory is received timely, accurately and sales floor remains stocked for optimal sales.

Essential Responsibilities will include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

Inventory Management Duties:

- Manages all incoming merchandise by receiving them physically and electronically and assigns product SKUs and prices according to pricing standards. Ensures that merchandise is organized and stored properly.

- Adjusts pricing accordingly during seasons of markdowns.

- Creates purchase orders (PO’s) and orders materials as needed in supporting all departments.

- Processes invoices for product payments.

- Counts and records inventory in the appropriate file management system.

- Communicates priority items and needs to management to ensure prompt attention.

- Monitors all counts and ensures counts are completed and entered timely. Promptly reports the management when counts are not completed, delayed, or inaccurate.

- Checks the quality and quantity of orders, ensuring that they match records, and ensures order discrepancies and damages are logged properly and reported within the time frame to recoup costs.

- Makes strategic purchasing decisions by continuously reviewing shared inventories across all departments with the goal of being adequately supplied versus surpluses and shortages.

- Proactively supports inventory control personnel and maintains levels for ordering materials as needed.

- Ensures and oversees inventory controls and audits of monthly inventory. Conducts accurate cycle counts and physical inventory as assigned.

- Works with management to review counts, order materials, and move materials overstock as necessary.

- Works with Management/Accounting to answer or resolve inventory or invoice questions.

- Works with staff and management to standardize paperwork flow between departments.

Sales Order Fulfillment Duties:

- Prepares products for sale by pricing, folding, unpacking, and restocking merchandise.

- Fulfills customer orders by picking, packing, and shipping timely.

- Acts as guest service ambassador by answering guest questions and with in person, electronic and phone communication.

- Coordinates and receives direction from management in the execution of sales floor decoration and layout.

- Assists on sales floor as needed.

Education:

Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience:

Required: One year of related experience in inventory management.

Language Skills: Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Writes routine reports and correspondence and speaks effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume while applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists while interpreting various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Business Acumen: Must understand the business implications of decisions, displays, orientation to profitability, demonstrates knowledge of market and competition, and aligns work with strategic goals.

Computer Skills: Must have knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Suite of Products.

Must be proficient with POS (point of sale) system.
