Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time structural engineer to support our structural team in Utah. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys being part of a team performing office and fieldwork.
Regular job duties include design and detailing highway and railroad structures, including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, drainage structures, and light industrial structures. The candidate must perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete a variety of assignments such as developing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
In addition to the design and inspection tasks listed, the candidate will be expected to lead the structural design of small to medium-sized projects and mentor entry-level staff to design and produce construction drawings. Communication is key for this position. The candidate will need to communicate effectively to direct entry-level staff and provide reports and updates to senior-level staff and clients. The candidate will need to work in a team environment with engineers from a multitude of disciplines.
