Job Title: Dental Receptionist

Kelson Dentistry, situated in Downton Silver Spring, is committed to providing exceptional dental care to our patients. We believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment for both our patients and our staff, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a dental or medical office setting and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Job Description:

As a Dental Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, both in person and over the phone. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, processing payments, and handling administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the front desk. Additionally, you will assist with insurance verification and billing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and ensure their comfort and satisfaction
  • Schedule appointments efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain patient records and update information as needed
  • Process payment and manage billing inquiries
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails promptly and professionally
  • Maintain knowledge of dental services offered
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary co-payments
  • Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
  • Coordinate with dental assistants and hygienists to ensure a seamless patient experience
  • Perform general administrative duties as required
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a front desk receptionist, preferably in a dental or medical office setting
  • Proficiency in dental software systems (e.g. Dentrix) required
  • Excellent communication and customers service skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in dental administration is a bonus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
