Position Summary

Responsible for timely entry of invoices into the general ledger system and providing accounts payable support to University departments.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* Timely entry of invoices into Workday, adhering to University policies and procedures. Provides support, addressing questions and problems, to various University departments.

* Handles doc with / enclosure with checks and other special handling of checks. Updates spreadsheets to track returned checks. Processing Supplier Invoice Requests and resolving rejected invoices.

* Completes various tasks in the Accounts Payable department. Maintains working knowledge of various accounts payable procedures, processes and systems.

* Research and resolve problem invoices to expedite payment to vendors. Work supplier statements and past due invoices.

* Completes special projects and other work as assigned. Supports the Supervisor of Accounts Payable.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior experience in Accounts Payable and customer service.

* Prior experience in a decentralized and/or university environment.

* Ability to exercise judgement and take corrective action; has a high attention for detail.

* Ten key operation by touch; demonstrated high level of speed and accuracy.

* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

* Experience working with personal computers; proficiency in spreadsheet applications and word processing (including Microsoft products).

* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines.

* Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

* A self-motivated individual, with the ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity; actively attempts to influence events, originates and takes action; ability to participate as a team member to achieve the goals of Accounting Services.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification with a minimum of three year experience in administrative or accounting functions.

Salary Range

$18.91 - $29.32 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
