Starting wage from $34.00 to $39.00 per hour, depending on experience, with an earning potential range from $34.00 to $41.97 per hour.

Position Summary
The Senior Lab Tech Lead is responsible for fully understanding the laboratory services, including scheduling and quality standards for the department. Carry out assigned responsibilities with company policies and department guidelines with emphasis on quality services and commitment to patients.

Essential Position Functions

• Ensure high quality laboratory service. Is responsible for review and acceptance of all cases received and the review and approval of all cases completed and leaving the laboratory.
• Will interact directly with Managing Dentists to resolve issues involving quality issues with lab cases. Will also coach and provide feedback to laboratory technicians regarding quality.
• Will meet with various dentists to problem solve and to provide information regarding lab products and processes.
• Will be accountable for overall effectiveness of their department (Crown & Bridge, Orthodontics or Dentures & Partials).
• Will implement process improvements for efficient fabrication processes, as appropriate.
• Is responsible to effectively purchase laboratory supplies for appropriate department.
• Will partner with other Senior Laboratory Technicians to best utilize staff, including reducing overtime and reliance on external lab resources.

Non Essential Position Functions

• Is responsible for implementing and training within the Dental Laboratory as recommended by the Laboratory Quality Assurance Committee and Managing Dentist.
• Is responsible for training of new employees and current staff on new materials, processes and techniques designed to improve quality and efficiency.
• Will coach and provide coaching and feedback to staff members regarding quality of work, individual production and teamwork within the lab.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required and a minimum of five years experience working in a dental laboratory/office environment with a minimum of two years company experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Demonstrated mastery of one or more laboratory technical skill, plus a working knowledge of others preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations

• Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred.

• Laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology and procedures.
• Operational characteristics of laboratory equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements:

The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
