Wide Eyes Open Palms Cafe in Long Beach is looking for a part time line cook to join our amazing team!
We are a women-owned specialty coffee shop and seasonal cafe with a love for sustainability and serving our community. We specialize in working directly with local farmers to source the beautiful ingredients we use to create our small, nutritious, seasonal food menu.
We're located at 416 Cherru Ave in the 4th St Retro Row district of Long Beach. You can find out more about us through our social media @wideeyesopenpalms.
Our ideal candidate is a lover of food and a kind, hardworking soul with some experience in the culinary world or restaurants.
Starting hourly wage with tips is $20-$24, with opportunities for growth within a company of dedicated, fun, respectful people. Part-time to start with full time potential.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Great communication skills
- Attention to detail, cleanliness and organization
- A professional and efficient style of work
- Previous experience in the restaurant or food space
- Interest in growing within a small, LGBTQ, woman-owned business
- Weekend and daytime availability (7 am - 4 pm)
Responsibilities include:
- Executing standard menu items, such as jam toasts, grain bowls and salads
- Packaging items for to-go and delivery orders
- Preparing everything from scratch, such as pesto, hummus, ricotta, etc.
- Helping to manage inventory and create ordering lists
- The opportunity to collaborate with the Chef on seasonal specials and event menus
- Composting and using organization and creativity to prevent waste
- Daily cleaning of kitchen
