Whitney Museum of American Art is Hiring an Engineering Manager Near New York, NY

The Facilities Engineering Manager will report to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation all engineering activities including general maintenance, corrective, preventive and planned maintenance of all MEP and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the coordination and operation of the Museum's computerized maintenance management program (CMMP)
  • Oversee Engineers' scheduling, project assignments and appropriate coverage
  • Work closely with exhibition staff on lighting schedule shade scheduling
  • Assist with creating and improving the services provided by the Facilities Department
  • Support the Director of Engineering in accomplishing capital project activities and provide overall leadership over day-today Engineering activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Administration, Facility Management, Engineering or related fields
  • At least 5 years' experience in Engineering Management, Facilities Operation Management or; Project Management
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that will foster effective working relationship with all department staff
  • Must be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures; experience with technical skills, knowledge and judgment to plan and accomplish department goals
  • Work closely and cooperatively with the Director of Engineering and the Chief Facilities Officer in leading and developing the skill set of Engineering Staff.
