Purpose/Summary

Responsible for driving and leading a well-defined materials organization including production planning, capacity planning, all with an emphasis on a lean factory approach. Also responsible for implementing a robust Sl&OP (Sales Inventory & Operations Planning) process that understands customer requirements and sees them through the factory to meet all delivery expectations. Be a change leader, responsible for building consensus for transforming the business using Lean Manufacturing principles. Manage and direct a staff in the preparation of production plans, inventory, and shop order management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under limited supervision:

  • Oversee the master production schedule to ensure there is alignment to the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) sales plan
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data while outlining recommendations to minimize the sites constraints in manufacturing (focusing on the planning processes, equipment, and human resource requirement.
  • Direct the production meetings so to comply with commitment date(s)
  • Collaborate with customer service ensuring alignment on customer demand
  • Oversee and review material requirements to ensure that parts are scheduled and delivered on-time to the production plan
  • Provide input regarding the production impact of order changes, material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
  • Establish inventory planning standards, procedures, and performance levels
  • Develop and implement production controls to monitor shop order progress and identify potential manufacturing bottlenecks and delays
  • Create and manage KPl's (Key Performance Indicators) that outline the sites position to schedule
  • Identify root causes, corrective actions, provide and implement solutions
  • Manage the sites ERP (Enterprise Resource Program) system for data integrity
  • Serve as change agent, promoting the use of Operational Excellence methodology
  • Develop strong relationships with management at all levels
  • Promote positive employee relations
  • Promote and demand a safe work environment
  • Facilitate on the job training and cross training through work assignments and use of mentoring to provide learning opportunities
  • Hire and develop team members that can effectively meet business goals and customer demands
  • Provide regular performance feedback to assigned employees
  • Complete performance reviews
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees
  • May manage others through subordinate supervisors/team leads.

Minimum
Qualifications:

  • 8 years relevant experience
  • 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles and thorough understanding of Kaizen, 6S, Kanban
  • Strong knowledge of MPS (Master Production Schedule)/MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Strong Knowledge of SIOP (sales, inventory, operations planning process)
  • Strong Knowledge of demand management planning
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Able to read, write, and speak in standard English
  • Legally authorized to work in applicable country.


Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing or related technical
  • 7 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably aerospace
  • Experience with Syteline ERP system
  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification a plus
  • Experience with ISO or OS 9000 systems
