BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (BHT)JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF POSITION: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (BHT)
LINES OF AUTHORITY: This position reports to the Chief of Operations, Administrator and/or Clinical Director for administrative and clinical duties
POSITION SUMMARY: Employee is responsible for the direct care of Clients including compliance with the facility rules and schedules, addressing individual needs of the client throughout the shift, participating in the admission/discharge of clients, conducting groups, intakes, complete documentation daily, understands and follows the treatment plan and assist other staff with any other duties assigned including audits and authorizations.
This position is: Full-Time/Part-Time
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complies with schedule, rules, policies and procedures
Responsible for conducting intakes, assessment, treatment plans, discharge plans and group and individual counseling
Responsible for implementing the daily activity schedules
Responsible for the safety of the clients
Responsible for completing documentation when applicable
Notify supervisor in the event of a safety and clinical issue requiring immediate attention
Knowledge of CPR as event by annual training documentation is submitted Knowledge of 1 st Aid
Responsible for completing an Incident and Accident Report when indicated
Responsible for abiding by the Code of Ethics, conduct business in a professional matter
Responsible for providing at least two week notice requesting vacation time Responsible for calling in sick 8 hours prior to scheduled time to work

POSITION REQUISITES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 1 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Has a bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience or
Has an associate degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience, or
OR four years of full time behavioral health work experience.
OR High school diploma and at least one year of behavior health field experience, but willing to train with a GED or High School diploma 21 years old (minimum age)
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift 25 pounds
Drive a vehicle
Completes required trainings
Participates in required supervision
Physically able to perform the primary responsibilities and working conditions Ability to respond to emergencies
OTHER CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES NOT INCLUDED ABOVE:
Current CPR certificate
Current with 1 st Aid Training
Current Valid fingerprint clearance card
