Whipple Service Champions is Hiring an Underground Field Supervisor Near Salt Lake, UT

Overview

Underground Field Supervisor at Whipple Service Champions & All Hours The essential functions of the Underground Field Supervisor are to prioritize, direct,supervise and train all Underground Service Experts, focusing on client service, deliveryof product/service, and profitability. The Underground Field Supervisor utilizes customerservice training to educate and assist Underground Service Experts with regard toeducating clients and handling client relations. Responsible for repairing and installingwater lines, sewer lines, and water meters. Provide service to broken water and sewerlines. Install and repair manholes. Maintains area around pumps stations and pipelines.

Essential FunctionsResponsibilities● Equipment Check and Sign Out○ Check equipment for proper function, what crews are responsible for equipmentfor that day○ Ensure we have proper material going to each job○ Equipment Maintenance and repair○ Ensure equipment is in same condition as it was when signed out previously○ Is equipment secured, are loads safe?● Crew Arrival, Departure & Job Preparation○ Keep track of arrival times and report to management.○ Are guys at the yard sitting around doing nothing, provide feedback, coaching,and guidance on what the team can do. Can areas and materials be cleaned up, isthere re-organizing the team can do, etc.● Crew check-ins○ 3 Check-ins a day: 2 phone calls, 1 on site physical check with the crew lead○ Phone calls to start the day after arrival, has everyone arrived, did we arrive onServiceTitan, feedback on job do we understand where and how to dig, andobvious concerns with job○ Physical visit mid-day, is everyone contributing to the job, is there anything we cando more efficiently? Where are we losing time? Is the job on track, how can wehelp? What’s the job site look like?● End of day check-in with the crew lead, what’s our stopping point? What do we need fortomorrow? How many more days on the job? When do we think we can do an inspection?Are we on track or off track? Why? Daily picture and note reminders.○ Report the end of day check-in with the department manager.● Job site checks○ When applicable review excavation site before starting projects and report andpossible concerns○ Evaluate for what type of equipment the job site may need● Job Preparation○ Gather and order parts and materials for future jobs.○ Do we have enough lining material for the upcoming weeks jobs, if not order it,get it stocked on truck/trailer○ Schedule/Organize excavators, trailers, and other equipment.○ Confirm that Road Closures, plates, or any other specialty equipment, is scheduled○ Confirm that Permits and Blue Stakes have been called

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in residential homes and commercial business environments, includingexposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. It alsorequires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions, includingexposure to contaminants, hazardous equipment, hazardous conditions, high places, ordisease/infections. This position also requires working in extremely bright or inadequatelighting conditions and requires working in very hot (above 90 F Degrees) or very cold(below 32 F Degrees) temperatures. You will be required to wear appropriate personalsafety equipment. This role routinely uses basic hand tools, drain or pipe cleaningequipment, pipe or tube cutters, pipe wrenches, pressure indicators, specialty wrenches,and operates standard office equipment such as iPads and smartphones.

Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met byan employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand;walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with handsand arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste orsmell. The employee must be able to lift or move 50 pounds or more pounds regularly.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Whipple Service Champions/All Hours Plumbing work scheduleswill vary to meet business demands.

Required Education and Expertise● Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, andmaintenance● Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction orrepair of hours, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.● Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production ofprecision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.● Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personalservices. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards forservices, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.● Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promoteeffective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people,data, property, and institutions.● High school diploma or equivalent.● Drivers license and clean driving record.Preferred Education and Expertise● 1-2 Years of experience in sewer & liner.● Working knowledge of ServiceTitan, Slack, Voxer and Google G Suite.
