State of Utah is Hiring a Technology Specialist / Field Services Supervisor Near Salt Lake, UT
The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR) is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Technology Specialist / Field Services Supervisor for the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DSBVI).
Technology
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of equipment and software used by individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
- Deliver presentations and training to staff, clients and general public.
- Work with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide referrals for equipment and technology needed for blind and visually impaired clients.
- Work with clients and employers to overcome barriers for employment for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
- Build and maintain good working relationship with clients.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Supervise field service staff including hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating correction disciplinary action.
- Prepare department reports as requested by management.
Preference points may be given for the following:
- Knowledge and experience working with individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
- Knowledge and experience working with accessible equipment and technology.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Willing to travel state-wide.
- Ability to lead others.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrate sensitivity, accountability, objectivity and tactfulness.
- Demonstrate ability to assess, monitor and evaluate needs and progress in services.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the diverse cultural backgrounds and practices of individuals.
- Deliver presentations or training using acceptable methods and techniques.
- Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing; reads and understands information presented in writing.
- Work with people in a manner which shows respect, tact and professionalism.
