We are seeking an additional part-time hair salon receptionist (Tues-Sat, 20-30 hours per week) who has knowledge of coloring services, natural hair services, braids, hair extensions, silk press/blowouts, etc. This individual will act as the first point of contact for customers who visit our salon or contact us to inquire about our beauty services. The responsibilities of the salon receptionist include warmly greeting customers upon their arrival, answering clients' questions about services via phone, email, social media, or in-person, and processing transactions. To succeed in this role, strong organizational skills and the ability to handle clients with grace, even during peak demand, are essential. Ultimately, the receptionist will contribute to the enhancement of our reputation by building friendly and trustworthy relationships with customers.
Intermediate to expert social media skills are mandatory. Open availability is required. Salon hours are as follows: Tuesday-Wednesday 10am-6pm, Thursday-Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday 10am-7pm.
Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet clients and inform assigned beauticians of their arrival.
- Book and confirm appointments via phone and email.
- Process transactions (cash and credit cards) and issue receipts.
- Offer beverages and engage in conversation with clients in the waiting area.
- Welcome walk-ins, address inquiries about services, and schedule appointments based on availability.
- Inform clients about new services and discounts.
- Cross-sell services and products when appropriate.
- Sell bundles and closures (commission will be received on products).
- Update client records with contact and billing details, appointments, and services provided.
- Fold towels.
- Maintain a tidy reception area.
- Order business cards, brochures, and stationery as needed.
- Manage social media accounts.
- Take photos of completed hair services.
Skills:
- Proven work experience as a salon receptionist, front desk representative, or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with office equipment, such as printers and POS systems.
- Familiarity with transaction processing.
- Proficiency in social media.
- Excellent communication abilities (verbal, phone, and email) with a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Strong organization and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful circumstances.
- Positive attitude and great customer service skills.
- High school diploma.
