Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Syracuse, NY

Overview: Oversees/manages overall daily operations of all three units with the primary concern for programs and service delivery; staff development; supervision of Unit Directors; facilities; and budget management.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for the effective management of facilities, equipment, and organizational technology.
  • Ensures Club Directors are striving for continuous improvement of Club operations leading to increased average daily attendance, increased teen membership, increased number of registered members and financial management.
  • Consults on, monitors, and helps administer all program specific grants (e.g. government grants for specific programs/projects; other grants, gifts, allocations restricted to specific programs).
  • Primary responsibility for ensuring Club safety, including emergency preparedness and risk management.
  • Evaluate overall program effectiveness based on participation and achievement of stated goals; modify to improve program performance, as appropriate.
  • Monitor Club specific income and expenses, making changes where necessary.
  • Manage performance of assigned Directors and other staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance in program design, development, community relations and program operations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure proper training of all staff in all aspects of Club operations as well as adherence to guidelines for staff evaluation and compensation.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with schools, other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, and community organizations.
  • Participate in activities to maintain good public relations for Club programs, services, and activities.
  • Monitor creation and distribution of marketing materials for Club programs.
  • Maintain close contact with the administrative team, Club Directors, and program staff to aid in matters of programming and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' work experience in non-profit agency operations management and supervision preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
  • Outstanding supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; develop highly effective staff teams and provide outstanding organization-wide programs within budget.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
