GENERAL PURPOSE: This is a position within a recycling facility that is responsible for overseeing the production floor, designating co-workers to specified areas and promoting a safe environment. This position requires constant communication with co-workers to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out accordingly. This document is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties, but a general summary; other duties may be assigned.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Lead co-workers to include schedules, training, productivity, and discipline when necessaryOversee the daily production schedule, including overseeing floorHelp facilitate morning meetings in conjunction with fellow co-workers which should include a daily safety topic(s), inbound/outbound loads, production schedule, etc.Be knowledgeable of balers, sort lines and hoggers if associated with designated facilityHelp operators in regard to efficiency and help them achieve the optimum throughput for the equipmentResponsible for ensuring quality systems are in place and comply with customer specificationsOversee production of inbound material on a timely basis per scheduleCreate and maintain a strong safety cultureOn the production floor several hours throughout the day to ensure safety and production goals are being metFill-in on equipment when co-workers are absentOversee the organization of the workspace and tools to increase efficiency.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have high school diploma or General Education degree (G.E.D.).Must have ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.Preferred experience in overseeing / managing a group of co-workersMust have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules / training.Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, etc.)Must have the ability to multi-task with various interruptions.Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outloook, etc.)Must be able to maintain good attendance.Be knowledgeable of all rolling stock associated with designated facility, including but not limited to forklifts, front-end loaders, and skid steersForklift experience requiredOSHA training is a plusRecycling experience is a plusWilling to work the hours needed to complete the daily tasksExcellent communication skillsMust be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
