Weston High School is Hiring a Food Service Manager Near Weston, MA

Position Overview

The Weston Public Schools is seeking to hire a Food Service Manager for Weston High School. This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week when school is in session, reporting to the Food Services Director. We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants who are inspired by our mission to educate, equip, and inspire all students to achieve their full potential and enrich their community.

About the Weston Public Schools

The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 160 students (K-12).

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and have overall responsibility for operation of assigned school kitchen
  • Demonstrate knowledge and train staff in preparation, serving, and storage of food
  • Operate, maintain, and train staff in the proper use of all kitchen equipment
  • Use effective sanitation and safety procedures, and see that all other staff are trained, and follow procedures
  • Meet the nutritional and financial standards of the school lunch program
  • Perform other kitchen assignments as director by the Food Service Director
  • Complete professional development as required by USDA
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation required
  • Previous cafeteria or restaurant experience
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Compensation and Professional Growth

The Food Service General Helpers will earn between $19.94 to $23.13 per hour, depending on relevant experience. Additionally, the Weston Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including subsidized health insurance and participation in the Middlesex County Retirement System.
