Job Description
General Summary Of Duties:
Deliver and serve food and/or beverage items in a professional, friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction.
Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

1. Set up tables in anticipation of guests.
2. Take guest order, place order with kitchen. When picking up, be certain that order is complete, i.e., all food, beverages, alcoholic beverages and condiments.
3. Carry trays up to 40 lbs. or push wheeled carts to deliver room service orders to guests in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. After set up, present check.

Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing/restocking workstation and general cleaning tasks.
Qualifications
Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

1. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
2. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to read and utilize math skills for guest billing transactions.
3. Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction/guidance. Ability to relate to all levels of management, guests and employees in verbal/written form.
4. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend and follow written or/and verbal instructions from supervisor.
5. Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during emergency situations.
6. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.
7. Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift.
8. Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and insure vouchers/checks are properly handled.
9. Mathematical skills necessary to verify/balance reports and perform calculations.
10. Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing/restocking workstation with supplies.
11. Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve problems and concerns.
12. Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen and respond to employee or management inquiries/concerns using a positive, clear speaking voice, answering questions and/or offering assistance giving accurate information regarding plans, policy or procedures within guidelines.
13. Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
14. Respond to guest inquiries. Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction and information within hotel guidelines.
15. Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice, answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information.
16. Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
17. Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
18. Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
19. Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
    Typical physical / mental demands
    Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart/table weighing a maximum of 40 lbs. at a continuous schedule.
    Ability to stand, move and work throughout the Hotel including walking up to 10 miles, climbing stairs, riding elevators, for the duration of the shift.
    Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances to a maximum of 10 miles within the facility.
