Western Technologies Inc. has immediate opportunities for a Safety Coordinator in our Phoenix, AZ Office. Qualifications
Significant prior Safety and Compliance expertise to include organization, coordination, and performance of duties at a responsible level
2 years minimum experience as a safety manager
Knowledge in the construction safety, workers compensation, and accident/incident investigations and reporting.
Evidence of good oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and customers
Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all team members dealings, negotiating for win-win outcomes
Maintain a Valid and current driver's License
High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
Responsibilities
Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements
Management and maintenance of safety training and information, MSDS compliance, LOTO, CPR and First Aid etc.
Advises management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices
Maintains safety files and records, such as workers compensation claims
Prior Safety and Compliance expertise to include organization, coordination, and performance of duties at a responsible level
Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
Review Customer Contract Safety Requirements and in cooperation with Operations staff, develop specific and work and compliance plans
Attend Safety Training and recommend to Management and Operations specific training programs
Oversight of Companywide Risk Profile and work with Management and Operations to develop risk reduction programs
Identify and develop opportunities to increase safety
Serves as a safety focal point coordinating communications with customers, consultants, and/or sub-contractors
Oversee Driver safety and measurement processes
Oversee employee-oriented safety programs
