JOB
The Transportation Procurement Trainee, under direct supervision, works in a training capacity to learn to perform technical and clerical work relative to governmental purchasing, and review and/or monitoring of procurement related activities. Employee will learn basic West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) procurement policies and procedures. Work requires acute attention to detail and ability to work under pressure of deadlines. Performs other related job duties as required.Pay Grade 8T5112N
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Checks purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and clarity; corrects any ambiguities in purchase orders and adds needed informationTypes and/or composes purchase orders, correspondence, memoranda, and reportsPerforms clerical functions to assist other Procurement staff with bids, awards, and other duties as neededAssists with maintaining tracking databases and updating the contracts web page
