West Fraser is Hiring a Safety Manager Near Fairfax, SC

The Safety Manager will work with members to develop a world class safety culture and eliminate workplace injuries. Position reports to the General Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

A description of the general activities may include:

  • Provide ongoing support to our members and leadership team in the identification of workplace hazards, reporting and investigation of incidents, and the development of a behavioral safety observation program.
  • Lead facility safety program
  • Ensure compliance of OSHA General Industry Standards and Norbord Standards
  • Facilitate safety training for all members
  • Measure progress toward meeting our safety targets and objectives.
  • Safety Incident Reporting and Recordkeeping
  • Worker’s Compensation

Qualifications you will need:

  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
  • An Associate/Bachelors degree in a Safety related field or Manufacturing Technology
  • Five to Ten years safety management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of facilitating a successful safety program
  • Ability to present and train team members
  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers is required
