PLACEMENT: Upper SchoolREPORTS TO: Director of Special Education/Program AdministratorWORK YEAR REQUIREMENTS: 185 day school yearRESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Special Educator and other subject area teachers to provide instruction to students using the Common Core StandardsImplement and follow students Individualized Education Plans and 504 PlansAttend IEP and other meetings to present students’ current levels of performance and identify future needs as requestedWork with educators and other staff to develop structures and procedures that will enable students with social/emotional and mental health needs to succeed in school and in the communityImplement, modify, and report on those procedures for identified studentsCollect data as needed to monitor efficacy of individual behavioral programsCommunicate expectations and outcomes to students, staff and families on a regular basisWork directly with students at-risk to help them develop appropriate coping strategies and conflict resolution skillsProvide support to staff and students in the event of a safety-related incident, including, when necessary, the use of appropriate physical interventionSupport students in their efforts to complete classroom work and to achieve their annual and long-term academic goalsPerform duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education/Program Administrator
