The Assistant Controller position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee and manage/perform general accounting functions, including operation of general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close work.
• Analyze financial information, call attention to trends, collect information and prepare reports.
• Assist with preparing bank and other reconciliations.
• Maintain cash flow management and capital reimbursements.
• Assist with weekly forecasting and commentary.
• Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
• Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, manage business risks, and improve operations and profitability.
• Assist in ensuring that payroll is processed accurately on a weekly basis.
• Balance daily revenues against PMS and POS.
• Assists in maintaining all licenses, permits, insurance and contracts.
• Monitor and upload weekly payroll for Finance department such as review/edit missed, produce schedules in system, review time-off with Area DOF.
• Assist employees and third parties with accounting-related inquiries.
• Manage and train new and existing accounting associates.
• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
• Fill in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform duties, special assignments and projects as requested by management.

Job Requirements:

• Must have 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting position in hospitality or similar industry.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience required.
• Experience with ProfitSword and Acumatica a plus but not required for consideration.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Understand and use computers and related equipment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of USALI
