JOB DESCRIPTION - ESTIMATOR

Weltmann Lighting is a commercial lighting distributor with offices in Hicksville, NY. Weltmann Lighting meets the lighting needs

of a broad client base. Our mission is to assist clients in successfully solving the most challenging construction projects and

exceed expectations for quality and on-time delivery.

We are seeking an individual who is smart, ambitious, organized and is very knowledgeable with computers to perform the required tasks

of an Estimator.

Summary Objective

The estimator isresponsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimateson projects under direct supervision

as required by clients’ documentsandprovides complete conceptual and total bid price.

Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to conceptually budget, meet deadlines, handle various projects simultaneously, work effectively in a demanding
  • environment, and be willing to go the extra mile
  • Experience with construction drawings, specifications, architectural sketches and other related construction documents is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office/Excel/Outlook/Adobe Acrobat Pro), math skills and have well developed time scheduling and
  • organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Previous experience in a construction related company preferred, not required
  • Previous experience with construction estimating take-off software is preferred, not required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Job Responsibilities (essential functions)

  • Prepare bid packages
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates on various projects
  • Develop relationships with manufacturers and manufacturers reps and our clients
  • Coordinate, budget, prepare and analyze lighting bids for large scale commercial interiors or high rise core & shell projects
  • Provide telephone and online customer assistance
  • Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management team
  • Develop spreadsheets in MS Excel and prepare bid documents utilizing MS Word and our custom software
  • Provide other services such as change order pricing, attending pre-bid conferences and site visits
  • Interface with clients, owner's representatives, account executives and contractors
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
