Responsibilities:
- Prepares accurate and timely cost estimates for Electrical Construction projects
- Reviews project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
- Collaborates with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project proposals
- Conducts site visits and gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Analyzes labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project budgets
- Utilizes Electrical estimating software such as Planswift or Bluebeam to create detailed estimates
- Negotiates pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids
- Monitors project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
- Prepares submittals to different government agencies.
- Provides support during the contract negotiation phase
-Assists Project Managers/Foremen in a day-to-day function of projects including preparation of
change orders, reports, material requests and transmittals.
-Be able to prioritize assignments while working on multiple concurrent projects.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient in using various computer programs, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, CAD, Bluebeam.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Knowledge of construction management principles and practices, PMP Certification is a plus.
- Ability to analyze project plans, specifications, and other technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and documentations.
- Familiarity with cost control techniques to manage project budgets effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
