SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:Provides a variety of mental health services to the Latino community in the South Los Angeles and Boyle Heights. As an ISM therapist, services will be provided to children, their families and adults with chronic health conditions. Services may include individual, group, and family psychotherapy; initial assessments and intakes; treatment planning; collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams within and outside the Agency. The ISM program also offers Outreach and Engagement services to enroll potential Latino clients in mental health services or to help reduce the stigma of mental health in the Latino community by means of community presentations or workshops.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clinical activities include but may not be limited to:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent (MSW, MA, Ph.D., PsyD, or MS) and clinical experience and/or training directly related to children and child counseling. While at least 1000 completed hours toward licensure is preferred, applicants with less than 1000 hours will be considered. Supervised clinical hours for clinicians obtaining hours toward licensure are provided. Current registration with licensing board is required. Bilingual Spanish speaking ability is desired.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employee may be asked to pursue additional training when it is determined to be in the best interest of the agency by their supervisor. Employee must have the ability to use a personal vehicle with the required insurance coverage to complete the essential duties of their job and conduct agency business. Employee must maintain a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record that meets Wellnest’s insurance carrier’s criteria for liability coverage.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee regularly needs to work onsite, in the field, in clients’ homes and schools. Employee must have the ability to use a personal vehicle with the required insurance coverage to complete the essential duties of their job and conduct agency business. Given safety precautions related to COVID-19, therapists will develop effective work environment in their own home to provide services virtually through HIPAA-secured telehealth platforms (e.g., Doxy, Zoom). Employee must be on call 24/7 to provide after-hours support to clients who call the ISM emergency number.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to assess situations with regards to best clinical, legal, and ethical practices within scope of practice including assessing immediate risks in client care. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
