Wellness Connection of Maine is Hiring an Assistant Dispensary Manager Near Egg Harbor, NJ

Summary:

The Assistant Dispensary Manager (ADM) will assist the Dispensary Manager with the operation of the assigned dispensary, ensuring an exceptional “guest” experience in order to minimally achieve / ideally exceed company defined monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and profit goals. The ADM will team with the Dispensary Manager on sales and service, business operations, cash, and inventory management and reports to the Dispensary Manager. The ADM will also help execute SOPs, KPIs and professional training and development to enable a positive “selling culture” for all assigned team members. The Assistant Dispensary Manager will assume the responsibilities of the Dispensary Manager in their absence.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

People Management Responsibilities

  • Supports and leads in the absence of the Dispensary Manager to drive the delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual sales through exceptional “guest” service achieved by supervising and coaching team members on “strategic selling” on the sales floor.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and engaging customer experience including strong interpersonal communication, professionalism and cannabis product knowledge
  • Supports and leads in the absence of the Dispensary Manager, the execution of SOPs, KPIs and best practices for the benefit of our “guests”
  • Coaches team members, while maintaining positive working relationships, at the guidance of the Dispensary Manager.
  • Partners with Human Resources and the Dispensary Manager on-boarding and training dispensary staff at the assigned location.
  • Supports and conducts meetings with team members for coaching and mentoring via assessing KPI, goal, and task performance and proactively identifies opportunities to either enhance or drive operational improvements.
  • Collaborates with the Dispensary Manager in managing team member performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals and expectations, observing performance, providing feedback and giving recognition. Helps to manage employee career progression.
  • Collaborates with the Dispensary Manager and the Sr Regional Marketing Manager to ensure on-going staff training on products, product usage methods, properties of cannabis, cannabinoids, and terpenes to enable a “strategic selling” culture.
  • Participates in company and on-the-job training to improve skills and productivity
  • Ensures that the dispensary – interior (includes BOH) and exterior – are clean and presentable for a welcoming environment.
  • Collaborates with the Dispensary Manager to support – scheduling, opening/closing/changing shifts - and task delegation.
  • Champions processes and activities by team members being compliantly executed in accordance with company policies, processes and practices.
  • Responds to potential emergencies with the Dispensary Manager’s guidance
  • Ability to travel to other locations for training and/or coverage.

Sales and Operations Management Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitors business results (using seed-to-sale programs, DOMO) to help achieve KPIs including but not limited to sales, customer service, inventory levels, payroll and operating expense management.
  • With approval from the Dispensary Manager, supports implementin operational processes in compliance with applicable state regulations for the training of the dispensary team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of NJ’s cannabis industry to ensure that “guests” are benefitting from up-to-date and effective cannabis practices.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Inventory Management Responsibilities

  • Oversees inventory management – compliantly, accurately and efficiently - including ordering items, maintaining stock and leveraging company resources to avoid oos and overstock in the absence of the Dispensary manager. Communicates inventory needs to the Dispensary Manager for the weekly sell-through calls to help ensure adequate stock levels, proper product assortment and consistent replenishment.
  • Manages receiving, stocking, pricing, returning and transferring of products.
  • Ensures adherence to all inventory SOPs to promote reporting consistency, mitigate loss and be compliant with applicable regulations.

Cash Management Responsibilities

  • Ensures cash in store is regularly counted, cross-checked and balanced.
  • Ensures adequate cash and change is on-hand to facilitate sales and transactions.
  • Implements efficient cash tracking and handling procedures to mitigate any potential loss.
  • Promptly investigates any cash variances and determines cause for any overage/shortage and subsequent corrective actions.
  • Holds assigned team members accountable for consistent and accurate cash handling practices.

Compliance, Safety and Security Responsibilities

  • Maintains current, up-to-date knowledge of state regulations
  • Partners with the Dispensary Manager to ensure that all team members complete required compliance training and maintain state credentials.
  • Collaborates with the Dispensary Manager to ensure that all team members comply with all safety and security standards.

. Collaborates with the Dispensary Manager to define policies, practices, and procedures including recognizing risk and developing mitigation plans

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a high volume, fast-paced, customer-facing team management. Cannabis industry experience is desirable.
  • Strong, motivational leadership and management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to strategically plan and prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve and work independently
  • Effective ability to delegate and multi-task
  • High level of integrity
  • Thrives in a fast paced, dynamic business environment, proactive and effective multi-tasker.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently and effectively with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with seed-to-sale software, Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), computing skills
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Computers and Technology

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency with point of sale, inventory, and transaction tracking systems used to facilitate sales and operations.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters, while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds to stock product boxes. Position requires frequent reaching into cabinets and displays to show and review product(s). Ability to maintain a stationary sitting or standing position for up to eight hours a day based on business needs and sales volume; and ability to bend and retrieve products from lower shelves. This role also enters information into sales and tracking systems requiring hand dexterity and the ability visually verify correct product information.
