Standards and Practices Specialist
Weigel Broadcasting Co. has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Standards and Practices Specialist to join our broadcast television team. The Standards and Practices Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that all advertising content aired on our networks and stations complies with regulatory standards, Company policies, and community guidelines. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of broadcast standards and practices.
Key duties will include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing advertising content to ensure compliance, make recommendations based on matters of taste and appropriateness, and evaluate truthfulness and accuracy, including reviewing supporting documentation submitted by advertisers.
- Conducting thorough research on legal and ethical standards related to broadcast television, staying up to date on industry trends and regulatory changes
- Maintaining accurate records and submit regulatory reports as required
- Effectively communicating with other stakeholders to determine appropriate next steps with questionable content, knowing when to escalate potential issues and applying knowledge of policies and past practices to maintain consistency
Requirements:
- 3 years relevant S&P experience
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Passion for television
- Strong time management skills and highly organized
