HR & Finance Assistant

Job Purpose

Works with HR Manager to ensure employer compliance with federal and state labor laws. Works with Finance to process travel expense reports and create/compile travel invoices.

Duties and responsibilities• Assist in hiring and termination procedures
• Create and maintain employee personnel files and records
• Review timesheets for accuracy and completion, send timesheet reminder emails
• Enroll employees in benefit programs
• Process employee expense and travel reports for reimbursement
• Assist in invoicing customers and processing bills for payment
• Maintain records and reports associated with HR, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Assist in data entry for accounting reports
• Assist in salary and market research for proposal pricing
• Assist in HR and labor law research and compliance
Qualifications
• Good communication skills
• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Able to research and self-study different fields when necessary
• Must be proficient with computer applications such as Windows, Microsoft Excel and MS Office
• Experience in data entry and reporting
• Knowledge of financial software (QuickBooks)
• General math skills
• Knowledge in human resources laws and regulations
• Excellent organization and planning skills
• Reliability and trustworthiness to maintain confidentiality of information

Education• High School Diploma -OR- GED
• Human Resources certification desirable but not required

Years of Relative Work Experience• 3 years human resources experience
• 3 years finance or accounting related experience
