For a More Affordable, Connected, Diverse, Healthy, and Vibrant Bay Area!

The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) are seeking a Deputy Executive Director of Housing and Energy. This executive-level position is key to the overall success of both organizations. MTC is the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) and regional transportation planning agency (RTPA) for the San Francisco Bay Area. The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) is the council of governments (COG) for the Bay Area. The Deputy Executive Director is a newly created position and oversees two direct reports, a staff of approximately 20, and an approximate annual budget of $120 million. Both programs are poised for significant growth in the coming years. This pivotal role requires innovative strategies to navigate the intersecting realms of housing and energy, ensuring that programs like Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA), the state's first regional housing finance agency, and Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN), the state's first regional energy network, lead the way in tackling these critical issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in sustainability, affordable housing, energy, public financing, or community development. Join us now to play a pivotal role in strategizing the future of housing and energy in the dynamic Bay Area. Apply today to make your mark and shape the region's future!
