Pay Grade - 18
Annual Compensation Range ($USD): 54,987.00 - 77,812.00 paid on a bi-weekly basis. Individual pay is determined by the applicable CBA and related articles.A Brief Overview
The Project Supervisor is responsible for the general inspection of construction projects for compliance with contract documents.This position may include: work on weekends, nights, holidays, and/or a varying or extended shifts depending on work assignment.What you will do
  • Coordinates construction work with Airport Tenants, contractors, consultants and Airport Authority Departments. Assists with the coordination of worksite activities related to project access and safety. Requests and coordinates response of field inspectors, Airport Authority Departments and government agencies.
  • Coordinate utility sweeps on Airport property as requested by Contractors with appropriate WCAA Departments.
  • Attends design and construction meetings with contractors, consultants and project management staff.
  • Reviews and inspects assigned project documents and projects at Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports to ensure compliance with Contract Documents to meet Airport Authority, FAA, Stakeholder, and governmental agency requirements (applicable building codes, City, County and State regulations, etc.). Monitors construction work in progress.
  • Ensures that security and safety procedures are adhered to by contractors.
  • Serves as a point of contact for contractors, tenants and other staff on project related issues. Assists with the resolution of problems related to assigned projects or contractors by gathering information on situation.
  • Prepares daily reports related to each construction project, including but not limited to inspection reports, project logs, Requests for Information (RFI), punch lists, invoice verification and contract closeout document preparation.
  • Reports issues or concerns to assigned supervisor for direction and guidance.
  • Attends and witnesses pressure testing of fire and water lines.
  • Attends final project walk-through and ensures that contractors have completed and complied with all items, including final punch list items.
  • Performs visual inspection of Airport properties, utilities, infrastructures and facilities to identify areas of risk/fatigue/failures or needed repair and replacement. Compiles reports of observations, files work orders or contacts the responsible parties.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency; And 
  • 3 or more years of experience working with construction contracts, maintenance and construction of facilities or in the construction industry.
  • Valid Driver's License and a safe, acceptable driving record.

Special Conditions

Have or obtainWCAA Airfield Certification (Movement Area) obtained within probation period.

Selection Process

Written examination on knowledge of construction and safety practices - 40% 

Oral interview - 60%

An overall score of 70% or higher is required to be rank on the eligibility list.
