Compensation:

  • In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Role Summary

  • Supervise, orient, and evaluate assigned therapists Child and Family Specialists, and support staff.
  • Responsible for regular scheduled weekly administrative individual and group supervision, clinical team meetings, and treatment reviews.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and consult weekly with the Director of Community Mental Health
  • Provide 24/7 assistance to assigned supervisees for clinical issues and crises that may arise.
  • Oversee the quality clinical communication within and across agency programs.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and case management policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and follow through on the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) processes for clinical and case management functions and services.
  • Responsible for timely review of supervisee’s Electronic Health Records System(EHRS) notes and documentation.
  • Serve on program and agency committees and task forces at the discretion of the Director of Community Mental Health Services.
  • Oversight of the intake process and assignment of client cases as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct external and internal utilization reviews related to chart compliance, quality, and appropriateness of clinical and case management services.
  • Represent the agency at public and assigned forums.
  • Consult with the assigned program psychiatrist and where necessary facilitate coordination of psychiatric activities with program staff.
  • Assess psychotherapeutic and case management needs of children and families and develop a list of problems, concerns, and strengths, by the parent(s), placement agency, and treatment team.
  • Develop an agreed-upon discharge plan and assess continuing care needs in collaboration with the Director of Community Mental Health Services, parent(s), placement agency, and treatment team.
  • Involve the child and family members in the treatment plan and promote understanding.
  • Develop and monitor working progress towards items on the individual client’s problem list and risk assessment tools.
  • Participate in treatment reviews, individual education plans (IEP), and other case conferences as needed.
  • Attend training as needed.
  • Understand and follow all Wayfinder’s safety policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Provide direct service to clients as needed.
  • Promote the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.
  • Report any incidents/accidents according to incident reporting procedures and protocols, within designated timelines as outlined in the reporting procedures. Ensure staff is knowledgeable of and adheres to the reporting procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent client information.
  • Perform other duties as may become necessary or as directed.

Qualifications


  • At a minimum, must hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must possess licensure in a mental health discipline, as recognized by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Certified in LACDMH-approved Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) and experience supervising clinicians trained in EBPs preferred.
  • Meets Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements for Clinical Supervision of Marriage and Family Therapist Associates, as well as Clinical Social Work Associates, including completion of BBS-approved Clinical Supervision training.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience required.
  • Successful related experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with at-risk severely emotionally disturbed (SED) youth and/or non-minor dependents.
