**Providing Opportunities.** Austin Polytechnical Academy is a high school in an impoverished community on the west side of Chicago. We have partnered with them in their mission of training minority youth for careers in manufacturing. We funded the establishment of their machining training facility. In addition, we offer job shadowing, mentoring and summer employment for their students as they learn the skills necessary to succeed in the manufacturing world. **Step 1.** Please review the list of open job opportunities below. **Step 2.** After we receive your application, it will be reviewed by a member of our Human Resources team. The purpose of the phone interview is to get acquainted with you, verify the information on your resume and determine if there is mutual interest. Depending on the phone interview, we may invite you to our facility for an in-person interview.

**Step 3.** At the in-person interview, you will meet with a representative of our Human Resources team. You may also meet with a supervisor or manager of the department or area you are applying for. We will try to evaluate your relevant experience, skills and competencies. You will have a chance to learn the specifics of the job and ask questions about it and the company.

**Step 4.** Depending on the job you are applying for, we may ask you to come back for a second interview. At the second interview, you will meet more people at the company and tour the plant. **Role & Responsibilities:**

We currently require an Entry-Level Buyer to join our purchasing team. Specific duties include, but not limited to:

* Solicit price quotations for a wide variety of raw materials, purchased components and MRO supplies;

* Assist in negotiating price, lead time or payment terms with vendors when needed;

* Place purchase orders;

* Monitor the status of open orders and expedite deliveries where necessary;

* Resolve any problems or issues with vendors; and,

* Maintain purchasing database.

**Qualifications:**

We require a hands-on professional with drive and the ability to identify problems, think through options and implement solutions. Specifically, the ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

* Recent college graduate with Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain/Economics/ Operations or related business discipline;

* Excellent computer skills including ERP and MS Office;

* Strong communication skills;

* Ability to read and interpret engineering prints;

* Team player and quick learner;

* Experience with manufacturing and some knowledge of the laboratory environment.

**Schedule:**

M-F; 3:15pm - 11:45pm

**Role & Responsibilities:**

Due to continuing growth in our business, we have openings for experienced CNC machine operators. You will be responsible for operating CNC lathes and mills, working to turn valuable castings, forgings, and bar stock into quality parts for our customers.

* Operate and adjust CNC machine tools to perform sequences of operations.

* Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications.

* Check parts for conformance to drawings.

* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

* Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

**Qualifications:**

* Training in CNC lathe and mill operation, preferably on Okuma lathes and Fanuc Robodrill VMC machines.

* 3 years experience in a precision machining environment.

* Ability to read and interpret prints.

* Ability to handle all basic CNC machining operations including changing inserts, touching off tools and making offsets.

* Familiar with quality control procedures including using common shop measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers and gauges) and completing inspection documentation.

* Ability to work independently and efficiently.

**Compensation/Benefits:**

* $500 Sign-On Bonus

* Starting pay rate is $15.00 - $18.00/hr; DOE

* $4.50 shift differential
