Overview

This is a career level opportunity for a MCAD designer in the R&D organization at TA Instruments – Waters LLC. You will have a unique opportunity to impact a broad range of industries including Electric Cars, 3D Printing, Energy Storage and Batteries, Pharmaceutical, Polymers, etc. developing life changing and innovative products. You will support design and develop new measurement technologies for material characterization working with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers. In this highly visible role you will support the new product development and Operations group in all asepcts of technical documentation and apply your knoweldege mechanical design.

Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

• Lead mechanical documentation efforts and support to development of instrumentation for material characterization
• Take responsibility for the generation of all 2D and 3D CAD files that represent the products, systems, subsystems or components under development
• Work closely with the Engineers and cross-functional team to develop product designs
• Implementation of new products and changes to existing products and ensure consitency with new product development plans, Bill of Materials (BOM), and ISO processes
• Lead all Bill of Material activity by working with product development engineers, Engineering Services,
• Communicate concerns/suggestions/improvements relating to engineering documentation and product life cycle management to Engineering Services Lead
• Drive full documentation of mechanical design including BOM, drawings, and procedures

 

The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

Education:

• Engineering Associates/Bachelor’s Degree prefered

Experience:

• Experience with Unigraphics / Solid Works / or Equivalent Tool
• PDM and change process experience
• GD&T knowledge and experience

Skills:

• Adept at originating and interpreting engineering drawings
• Strong interpersonal, communications and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
• PLM, PDM, Teamcenter, Design, solidworks, NX, BOM, Bill of materials, mechanical design, SAP
