Salary Range: $72,036.00 - $101,754.00 Salary/year

Description

*This is a full time salaried ministerial exempt position. Salary starting between $72,036 to $81,942 annually. Ministerial Housing Allowance is available tax free for this position. This can be discussed during interviews.

The Director of Global Outreach is responsible for development of the Global Outreach (GO) Department at Water of Life Community Church (WOL). This role is pivotal in shaping outreach/mission teams, fostering ministry partnerships, and orchestrating special events in alignment with biblical principles and Water of Life’s philosophy of ministry. The position supports the Global Outreach Leadership (GOAL) team, ensures the success of overseas outreach, and fulfills general pastoral responsibilities.

Implement the vision, goals and strategic direction of GO. Meet with GOAL Team on a monthly basis to set objectives and address ministry needs.

Provide pastoral care and oversight to GO staff, lay leaders and volunteers. Provide overall support for the GOAL Team. Facilitate the recruitment, training, and support of Team Leaders who disciple their team members. Meet with and be available to Team Leaders for the purpose of spiritual growth, successful ministry, interpersonal issues within teams and other concerns that may arise. Evaluate outreach team experience and outcomes with Team Leaders to assess areas of growth and enhance ministry impact and team experience.

Oversight of all WOL short-term outreach teams (i.e. planning, preparation, financial management, execution, post-trip evaluation, etc.). Collaborate with various WOL ministries to organize and send ministry-specific outreach teams (i.e. youth teams, young adults, etc.). Manage departmental fundraising efforts and ensure financial stewardship.

Maintain and evaluate international ministry partnerships. Evaluate new partnerships and opportunities for GO. Oversee the support and care of long-term missionaries supported by WOL, including evaluation of support requests. Engage with WOL missionaries during their visits to the local area. Support the Missionary Care teams.

As a Director; responsible to direct the functions and oversee the operations of a single ministry team. Implement the mission and overall direction of the church as it relates to the ministry team. Lead, mentor, develop, disciple and evaluate the work of direct reports and/or volunteers. Ensure collaboration between ministry teams. Evaluate the health and success of the ministry and deliver feedback to supervisor. Responsible to monitor and oversee ministry budgets. Use Benchmarks and feedback to identify and implement opportunities for ministry growth. Responsible for cascading communication to next levels in the ministry.

As an Associate Pastor; Teach, as approved, according to WOL Vision, Values, Beliefs, Practices. Emergency Phone Rotation. Sunday staffing. Saturday Service Rotation. Administer Sacraments. Pastoral Duties: Weddings, funerals, hospital visits, etc. as approved. Other duties as assigned.

Facilitate awareness and engagement in GO opportunities within the WOL community. Collaborate with Local Outreach to encourage team members’ participation in local outreach events/ministries post-outreach teams.

Qualifications


  • Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Ministry or Theology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ vocational ministry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in area of specialization
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in recruiting, leading, training, and supervising volunteers
  • A heart for global missions
  • Proven experience in leading and developing outreach programs and teams
  • Deep knowledge and embodiment in practice of the Scriptures
  • Demonstrated strategic abilities including managing people, departments, planning and budgets
  • Intermediate knowledge of office technology tools
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop an efficient and applicable ministry model using servant leaders as the primary means of accomplishing ministry in accordance with Ephesians 4:11-13
  • Aspire to be a Christian role model in accordance with 1 Timothy, chapter 3
  • Maintain a consistent relationship with God, demonstrate a strong and growing walk with Christ and live a Biblical lifestyle that honors Christ
  • Be personally committed to the ideals, values and mission of WOL
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information; refraining from gossip
  • Ability to resolve issues according to Matthew 18
  • Be/become a Member at Water of Life and regularly attend its weekend services
