What is the opportunity?
The Learning and Development (L&D) Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Culture and Staff Development in developing, coordinating, and implementing initiatives that contribute to building a healthy workplace culture and fostering an environment for spiritual growth and professional skills to develop. The L&D Coordinator will also provide critical administrative support by bringing a superior level of organization and service to the Culture and Staff Development team. Based in Charleston, SC, this part-time, non-exempt position will report to the Director of Culture and Staff Development.
A successful Learning and Discipleship Coordinator will:
  • Maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, partners, the communities we serve, and the public.
  • Coordinate the planning of live and virtual training events including managing invitations, ordering and preparing training materials, set-up, tear down, and assisting with a/v needs. Serve as the producer for virtual events.
  • Track employee training records in the Learning Management System.
  • Support the successful implementation of the daily all-staff meeting. Schedule meeting leaders, hosts, and presenters.
  • Enable global prayer by collecting global prayer requests and praises, creating a Global Prayer Sheet, and distributing it in multiple languages.
  • Post discipleship lessons on the intranet.
  • Assist with onboarding new team members by ensuring training requirements are met.
  • Interact with global team members to support culture and staff development initiatives.
  • Create and distribute Biblical DISC summaries for team members.
  • Pull and prepare reports from the HRIS.
  • Support the building of a healthy workplace culture by participating in staff events and activities.
  • Develop and build self-paced online course materials.
What is required?
  • Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Alignment with Water Mission’s Statement of Faith and Core Values of Love, Excellence, and Integrity
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in general or executive administrative support
  • Experience with a learning management system a plus
  • Driven individual with an ability to solve problems proactively
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize requests effectively
  • Ability to excel both independently and while working in a collaborative, team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and HRIS systems a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas and feedback in a constructive way
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professional maturity, integrity, and discernment
  • Comfortable with public speaking (both large and small groups)
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time and move about the inside of the office to set up room for training events, lift training materials, etc.
  • Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities, required
  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
